X-country-like. Recommend off-roaders!
If you can possibly car-share then
please do so to ease parking congestion.
As you can imagine, 220 entrants, fun runners, family and friends all
descending on Knype Pool will impact the small amount of available parking.
Therefore this year we have worked with Sainsburys and Hollinshead Coaches to
put on a FREE park and ride facility from Sainsbury's carpark, Biddulph.
We are encouraging all of you to use this facility to ease parking congestion at
This free facility is for your friends and family too, you can park
on Sainsburys carpark. Free return once the main race is over. Bring some
old warm clothes to put in case there is a short wait for the return bus.
If you do not wish to use this facility, check out our

with a run-in/warm-up or please car share with other
members of your own club or family/friends where possible.
DETAILS OF FREE PARK & RIDE to and
from Knype Pool Race:
- Sainsbury's carpark, Meadows Way, Biddulph, ST8 6AJ (Biddulph Bypass
- you can't miss it!)
- Rob from Biddulph Running Club will be at Sainsbury's co-ordinating
- Hollinshead coach will be ferrying runners/families/friends etc from
9am till approx,
10.30am, every 15 mins or so.
- Hollinshead Coach will return to Sainsbury's carpark after the main
race (note the supermarket has a cafe area, open from

PARKING - with a 1.5km run-in/warm-up
Knypersley ST8 7BS.
As parking at this race is
always an issue some competitors choose to park away from the race and do a
run-in as a warm-up. We suggest Orme Road, Knypersley as one option.
Post code is ST8 7BS. Please show respect to local residents by not blocking
See Map below. At the
Mill Hayes Rd end of Orme Rd turn right then immediately left to cross a cattle
grid and enter the drive toward Knypersley End Farm. Shortly after the cattle
grid go thru a single swing gate on the right.
Follow the path across two fields as
marked by the red dotted line on the map below. Cross the second stile into the
woods and follow the path down toward the next stile (not marked on map) at the
bottom of the woods. Cross the stile and follow the paths around the Serpentine
and Knype Reservoirs to the Start Line as marked on map below).

AT THE VENUE:
- Shelter will be provided including a baggage area, bring warm
clothing to change into
- Don't bring valuables, however there will be a charity cake stall
(back by popular demand!) so bring some small change money with you to buy homemade
cakes with all donations to the Mayor's charities
- Race Terrain - all off road on trails and fields, could be
muddy/soft in places therefore we recommend off-road shoes but not
- The course is fully marshalled
- Toilet facilities will be available near race start and main car
park ( 600yds away)
- Numbers to be picked up from Registration on the day, please fill in
the details on the reverse.
- Numbers are to be clearly displayed on the FRONT of your top (do not
cover your number up) anyone who goes through the finish line without a
number will not be counted or timed
- This is a manual timed race (not chip timed), the finish area has to
be kept clear to enable accurate timing and finish places by the race
- Once runners have gone through the finish funnel, REMOVE your race
number. Do not go back through the race finish funnel.
- If you want to support your team mates/friends, please
do so from the side lines, DO NOT run alongside other runners in the
approach to the finish line, this could jeopardise the final results, we
need to keep the finish area clear.
- Please wait for the full results which will be done manually and
will be published on Biddulph Running Club's Website
later in the day, and later to John Schofield UK Race Results service.
- Please do not disturb the timekeepers by asking for your time.
Please be patient with this.
1st/2nd/3rd prizes are handed out at the finish line. Age category prizes
are posted to the address you registered with.
