Welcome to Biddulph Running Club!

Training Groups

Biddulph Running Club prides itself on being an inclusive social running club open to runners of all abilities. The basic premise of the club is if you can run without stopping for around 6 miles, our training nights are for you, no matter what your pace.

Our club routes are available to view on the 'routes' section of the website and all range between 5 to 7 miles. Each route has 2 or 3 muster points where runners gather together to take care that no-one gets separated from the pack. There's also a sweeper appointed for each run to bring companionship and encouragement to the back runner and ensure that no-one feels under pressure from holding up quicker runners.

On colder evenings, to prevent runners from getting cold, naturally evenly paced runners may choose to run together so that their musters are as short as possible. Running back through the pack is another way of keeping warm and giving encouragement to club members, so you could see this on occasions.

We just do what makes sense on the night, both to keep everyone safe but be sure that your time with Biddulph Running Club is effective for you, whatever stage you are at in your own running.

New to Running

If this isn't quite the stage that you are at, here at Biddulph, we love hosting our annual New to Running programme. We welcome people with no running experience at all, taking runners from zero to 5k in about 6 weeks. Many of our current runners entered Biddulph Running Club through the New to Running programme and have gone on to achieve 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon distance. You may not believe it now, but it really is possible for you.

Look out on our social media page and other local advertising pages for the next programme.
