About Us

Established in 1982 as a jogging club and eventually being affiliated to England Athletics in 1984, this small friendly club has something for everyone.

The members meet at 6:30pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Biddulph Valley Leisure Centre.

We also have two established daytime runs - Monday and Thursday, 9:15am from BVLC.

Runners of all abilities are made welcome as each training run is tailored - usually lasting from 40 minutes to an hour or so. No-one is left behind on runs as the club operates a 'mustering system' and you will run with a group of similar ability - see Training Groups.

During the summer the beautiful North Staffordshire countryside parks and trails provide ideal off-road training and, in winter, local roads provide for safe running routes.  Once a month, from spring through to early autumn, the club organises an 'away' run. This usually means starting from somewhere other than BVLC, running a normal 5-7 miles then convening afterward in a local pub somewhere close to the route. Rudyard Lake, Tittesworth Reservoir are among firm favourites.

Members enjoy regular updates on races and meetings in Staffordshire and surrounding counties giving the chance to meet and compete with fellow runners. There is also an active social side with organised walks, weekends away and an informal gathering once every month in a local hostelry.

See the Membership menu for more information on how to join - new members are always made very welcome.

The club is not open to under 16's but there is no upper age limit, so if you are 17 to 97 and want to know more please don't hesitate to  Contact Us

We also have a Facebook group - open to all full and social members of the club. It's a closed group so posts cannot be seen by non-members.
